A majestic night!
Our BTEC Dance students were completely captivated by the grace, power, and technical brilliance of Swan Lake at the Belgrade Theatre this week.
The truly unforgettable element for the students, was the 30-piece live orchestra accompanying the ballet. The emotional depth the music brought to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score was palpable, adding an electric energy that resonated through the entire theatre.
Thank you to Mrs Benge for supporting us as a chaperone.
We can’t wait for our next theatre trip!

Stem careers workshops
Thank you to Tata Technologies who delivered STEM careers workshops this week to our Year 8 students. Students worked in small groups to identify something they felt needed improving in their local community. They then worked on an improvement plan and designed an app to tackle the issue, and finally presented their findings to staff and volunteers.
Young scholars go to lunch
Some of our Year 13 pupils joined students from other local schools this week for the Rotary Club of Warwick’s annual scholars’ lunch. They heard from President Jon Wassall about the Rotary Club’s fundraising achievements, including the funding for the re-roofing of a school in Bo, Sierra Leone and the money raised to improve the eyesight of local people in Rotarian Bill Jaspal’s home village in Punjab by paying to introduce eye testing in schools.
The students told Rotarians about the numerous charitable events they were undertaking, including Myton’s work to support Sarcoma UK, Children in need and sending books to Ukraine.
Year 11 Geography fieldwork
Year 11 GCSE Geography students recently took part in an exciting field trip to Carding Mill Valley to investigate how a river changes downstream. Working in teams, they collected data on depth, width, bedload and velocity. Their engagement and determination ensured they gathered high-quality data while supporting one another throughout the task.
In the afternoon, the group moved on to Shrewsbury to carry out vehicle counts and questionnaires, exploring whether the town’s park and ride system is successful. The students approached members of the public with confidence and respect, demonstrating real maturity in the way they conducted their surveys.
Throughout the day, they showed themselves to be aspirational in their learning, respectful towards both the environment and the community, and truly community minded in the way they worked together. It was a pleasure to see them representing Myton School with such pride and commitment.

Year 9 explore Earth’s story with Explorer Dome
Our Year 9 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in an interactive workshop delivered by the visiting organisation Explorer Dome this week. Inside the impressive Earth Dome, students were taken on a captivating journey through the formation and development of our planet — from its fiery beginnings to the present day.
The experience was both educational and engaging, bringing Earth science to life in a memorable and dynamic way. The Explorer Dome team praised our students for their enthusiasm and thoughtful engagement throughout the session.
We are proud to say that our Year 9s were exemplary ambassadors for the school, demonstrating the values of Community Mindedness and Respect that lie at the heart of our ethos.
