A massive well done to our Year 10 BTEC Dance students who were fantastic performing at the Warwick Castle festive light trail last week. Despite the truly horrific wind and rain putting their balance to the test, the students brought heaps of Christmas cheer! 

They brilliantly showcased their own choreographed festive dance routines on the performers’ stage. You all shone brighter than the light trail itself! Great job spreading the holiday spirit! Mrs Clemons and Mrs Cross are very proud of you.

Our decorated Christmas tree is now up at All Saints’ Church in Leamington! The tree will be on display until the 7 December, with the winning tree also announced on that date.

Year 10 students visited Oxford University this week to gain a greater understanding of the different types of universities, courses offered and entry requirements. As well as workshops the students had the opportunity to look around the different colleges within the university.

Fundraising is in full swing for our charity of the year, Sarcoma UK. As you may have seen in a previous Weekly News item, Mr Griffin, Sixth Form Administrator, had his head shaved bald at the end of September and will not cut it again until July 2026, when, if enough money has been raised, he will sport whatever style and colour the Sixth Formers choose to the Year 13 Leavers Ball in July 2026.

Students have been making Christmas tree decorations in their Design and Technology classes this week ready for our entry to this year’s Leamington Christmas Tree Festival. The decorated trees will be at All Saints’ Church in Leamington from this weekend and the winning trees will be announced on Sunday 7 December.

Our English department is taking part in a national competition to select 12 regional young poet laureates. As part of the competition volunteer student writers from Year 7 to 9 have attended writing workshops this week and on one morning met for an online poetry masterclass with poets Nikita Gill and Karl Nova.

We are delighted to celebrate the wonderful achievement of our Year 10 BTEC dancers who represented Myton by performing at the Leamington Spa Christmas lights switch-on last week!

Mrs Clemons was very proud as the group performed engaging routines on the main stage, adding to the festive atmosphere for the whole town. 

It was a brilliant opportunity for them to showcase their talents to a wide audience. We are extremely proud of their professionalism and fantastic performance. Next up – Warwick Castle!
