Thank you and well done to all our students who supported or competed at our Sports Day this week at Edmondscote athletics track. Thank you also to all the staff who helped run the day and the families who came to watch. We had some great performances, personal bests and broken records!

Congratulations to the following record breakers:

Ava (Year 7) – girls’ javelin, throwing a distance of 21.70m to beat the 2015 record of 19.89m. Second placed Verity also beat that record with a throw of 21.47m.

Congratulations to Annie in Year 9, who has been selected to attend this year’s Basketball England’s Aspire Super Camp, made up of the best players from all over the country. Annie will be playing for the central region for U15 girls. Well done Annie on this amazing achievement!

Warwick County Football Club are running a club promotion day at St Nicholas Park on Saturday 23 May, 10am to 4pm with free football matches, target practice, penalty shootouts, dribbling challenges and the chance for families to meet the club.

Congratulations to Jack in Year 11 who signed his two year semi-pro scholarship contract for Wigan Athletic Football Club this weekend!

Well done to the Year 8 boys Sports Hall Athletics team who performed excellently at the recent County Sports Hall Athletics Finals, coming away with a bronze medal. This is the fifth year in a row (and sixth time in total) that Myton have competed at this competition and have finished in the top three!

A massive congratulations to our PE stars of the half-term! These students have been chosen for their outstanding contributions, work ethic, progress and commitment to PE this half-term. Each student has received a certificate, chocolate bar, badge for their blazer as well as a prize draw entry for a £10 voucher. This half-term the voucher was won by Jadon from Year 11. All students will also be included into a prize draw at the end of the year to win a paid for activity such as Ninja Warrior, Jump In or similar activity.

The Year 10 boys’ rugby team came out victorious against North Leamington School this week with a strong team performance all round. The final score was 71-0. Two of our players scored hat-tricks, there were other try scorers across the board and our team displayed a strong defensive effort throughout the game!

Well done, and onto the next game!
