Maya from Year 10 began her Young High Sheriff duties this week as she joined Warwickshire’s High Sheriff at the World Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims. This was a moving and beautifully organised memorial service to honour those whose lives have been tragically lost or seriously affected by road collisions.

Some of our students joined with musicians from Kenilworth School, North Leamington School, Oakley School and Southam College last week for a Come and Play Orchestral event organised by Warwickshire Music Hub. 

Nearly 70 students in total took part, performing two contrasting pieces – the Blue Danube and Havana – to Year 1 Oakley School students to support their learning about the orchestra. It was fantastic to hear the progress made in such a short time and the final performance was enthusiastically received by the young audience! 

Thank you to Oakley School for hosting the event and to Ms Cheung and our visiting instrumental teachers for helping the students to prepare the music ahead of the event.

We have been fundraising for Children in Need today, with Sixth Formers wearing pyjamas and the rest of the school accessorising with yellow or polka dots in return for a £1 donation. The Sixth Form Student Leadership Team have also held cake sales and done face painting. We’ll let you know next week how much has been raised!

Our fantastic BTEC Dance students enjoyed a truly inspiring trip to the Belgrade Theatre this week, accompanied by Mrs Clemons and Mrs Cross.

The students were treated to a viewing of Shadows, a captivating two-part modern dance performance that was both thrilling and thought-provoking. Everyone had a magnificent time!

We are incredibly excited for our BTEC dancers to channel this experience and the fresh, innovative ideas they gathered into their upcoming Component 3 devised piece. Get ready to see the sparks of inspiration take shape in their brilliant new work!

Thank you to everyone who came to see our Midsummer Night’s Dream performances before half term, and well done to all those who took part (they even received a good luck message from Stephen Graham, who had heard they were performing!).
