How many subjects will you study?

The number of subjects – and the choice of subjects – studied by our Sixth Form students depends on their forecast grades and eventual GCSE results.

MOST STUDENTS STUDY 3 SUBJECTS THROUGHOUT YEARS 12 & 13

For most students we would recommend that at least 1 or 2 of their subjects are ‘facilitating subjects’.

Everyone also studies the Extended Project Qualification.

SOME STUDENTS STUDY 4 A LEVELS IN YEAR 12 AND EVEN YEAR 13

There is no requirement for students to take 4 A levels but the ablest students may choose to do so. This is suitable for students who are forecast at least 8 grades at 8/9 at GCSE and who are considering applying to Oxbridge, Medicine, Veterinary Science or other competitive courses.

We would recommend that all their courses are A Levels and at least 3 of their subjects are ‘facilitating subjects’.

RESITS IN ENGLISH AND/OR MATHS

Resits in English Language and/or Maths are available for students who do not achieve a grade 4 in those subjects in Year 11.
