Year 7 Happy Christmas message
Mrs Clemons and a very special visitor would like to wish our Year 7 students (and all other students!) a very Happy Christmas!
Foodbank donation drop off
Thank you to Year 7 students and their families who donated food to our foodbank project. Students dropped off the donations this week to our local foodbank. We hope this helps support families in the area over the Christmas period.
Students spread joy to care home residents and hospital patients
Students have visited both local care homes and hospitals in these last weeks of term to deliver handmade Christmas cards, or to sing carols and songs to the residents and patients, helping to bring some festive joy and cheer. These students have shown a real community spirit and stood as excellent role models in the school by demonstrating Myton’s core CARE values. Thank you and well done to everyone involved!
Christmas Concert
Our annual Christmas Concert took place this week, with some amazing musical and vocal student performances.
Highlights included accomplished solo piano performances by Raffi in Year 8 and Matthew in Year 10, and Paige, Amy and Tallulah in Year 9 performing their own composition pieces.
Year 11 Economics bring Squid Games to the classroom
Year 11 Economics students experienced economic theory first-hand this week through a thrilling ‘Squid Games’ inspired competition.
Students were randomly allocated into teams of four, then rotated through five game stations—Keepie Uppies, Gonggi (Korean stone game), Knock the Door, Spinner Challenge, and House of Cards. At each station, teams strategically selected one player to compete against the clock.
Vocal group sing for rehabilitation patients
Members of our vocal group visited Leamington’s rehabilitation hospital in conjunction with ‘Warwick – A Singing Town’ and the Kissing It Better charity. They sang for stroke recovery patients on Campion Ward, handed out Myton student Christmas cards, chatted with patients and also sang for a few patients currently recovering from brain injuries. They bought a lot of joy to the patients and hope to visit again in the New Year.
Christmas Jumper Day
Our students looked very festive today in their Christmas jumpers and accessories. Our Sixth Form were raising money for Young Minds Matter and the rest of the school for Save the Children. Thank you to everyone who has donated!
Stowe Valley MAT wide art competition
Myton School students recently participated in a Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust wide art competition to create a postcard that celebrates Myton’s ‘CARE’ values in conjunction with the Trust’s values of Kindness, Resilience and Confidence. You can see Myton students’ amazing entries here. The postcard entries will be exhibited (and available to purchase for £5 with proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust) at the 2026 Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust Art Exhibition at Compton Verney (date to be confirmed).
A selection of ‘winning’ cards from across the MAT schools will also be included in a Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust 2026 Calendar that will be sold in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Best of luck to all our students!
BTEC Dance students take on Motionhouse!
Our Year 9, 10, and 11 BTEC Dance students had an amazing experience this week participating in an intensive physical workshop led by the renowned contemporary dance company, Motionhouse. The students had the best time exploring dynamic and athletic movement, learning new techniques, and pushing their physical boundaries.
We can’t wait to see them apply these exciting new skills and ideas to their upcoming Component 3 BTEC task!
