Thank you to ex-student, Gab, who visited A level PE students before Easter to demonstrate physiotherapy diagnostic techniques for several sporting injuries. Gab is now a qualified Physiotherapist and his excellent presentation reinforced knowledge key to the A level PE course and provided great insight into the role of a Sports Physiotherapist.

Please find below tips on experiencing challenges and preparing for exams.
Easter egg delivery
Students spread some Easter cheer in the community this week by delivering the Easter eggs and daffodils they’ve worked so hard raising money to buy to local care homes, hospitals via the Kissing it Better charity and the Warwick/Leamington Foodbank.
They spent the afternoon chatting with the care home residents, who loved every minute!
Thank you to everyone involved and to all those who donated Easter eggs!
Year 13 guest speaker – Meningitis Now
Year 13’s assembly guest speaker this week was Angela, representing the Meningitis Now charity. Her touching personal story came with a key educational message for our young people at this pertinent time. Remember to look out for the signs and symptoms, and trust your instincts.
Pizza Party!
Congratulations to all students who were invited to the Pastoral Rewards Pizza Party this week!
Secondary Book Awards 2026
A selection of students who have been following the Warwickshire Secondary Book Awards visited the award ceremony this week. The winner was Jenny Pearson – ‘Shrapnel Boys’. This was a great opportunity to meet some brilliant authors, read some great books, and get their books signed!
Some of our students received awards themselves, including Callum, who received the Outstanding Contribution Award for participating in nine book awards during his time at Myton!
Zoe shortlisted for Midlands Young Poet Laureate
We are delighted to announce that Zoe in Year 9 has been shortlisted for the post of Midlands Young Poet Laureate with her poem Nan’s Bumble Bee. This is a fantastic achievement for her and a very exciting time for our school!
Zoe is one of 20 shortlisted students selected from across the region. The number and standard of entries was exceptionally high, making this an outstanding accomplishment. All shortlisted students will now enter the next stage of the process, where they have a chance to be appointed the new Young Poet Laureate for the Midlands and become an ambassador for poetry. All shortlisted students will also have their poems published in a celebratory anthology and will receive a copy of this.
π speaking competition
This week we hosted our fourth annual π speaking competition, where students were challenged to recite from memory as many digits of the mathematical constant π as they can, earning pies or circular chocolates as a reward if they could manage ten digits correctly. The winning student, Lily in Year 9, managed an amazing 250 digits!
For perspective, imagine trying to memorise 23 phone numbers, then reciting them all perfectly in order.
The 250 digits our winner managed are displayed below:

Wicked day out!
Our Year 11 BTEC Dance students had a defyingly brilliant day in London on Wednesday!
They were swept up in the magic of Wicked, leaving the theatre well and truly spellbound. It was a wonderfully uplifting experience, the perfect bit of sparkle and inspiration ahead of their final BTEC assessment!
What a wicked treat for an equally wickedly talented group!

Career detectives
Year 9 students had the opportunity to take part in a career detective session this week. The aim of the session was to make students aware of the different types of jobs and careers that may be available when they leave school. With volunteers including a celebrity chef, a pilot, prison officers, healthcare professionals, engineers and administration based volunteers, it was a fantastic way for students to learn about the different job roles in a fun environment.
