Perry wins silver medal at the English Schools Athletics Championships
Congratulations to Perry in Year 11 who, although drafted into the Warwickshire Schools Athletics team at the last minute, achieved a personal best time in the 200m and also came away with a silver medal in the mixed relay at the English Schools Athletics Championships. This is a fantastic achievement, well done Perry!
Myton Sports Leaders volunteer at the English Schools Athletics Championships
21 students from Year 8 to 10 volunteered to help carry kit at the English Schools Athletics Championships in Birmingham last week, on the hottest day of the year.
The temperature hit 33 degrees within the stadium, but this did not deter the volunteers, who walked over 10 miles during the day to help with this prestigious event.
The students brushed shoulders with the elite athletics at school level in the country, some of whom have gone on to compete not only for the country, but internationally in the Olympic Games, and they enjoyed the whole experience.
This is now the fourth year we have been asked to provide leaders for this event and we were acknowledged by the stadium announcer during the event.
Ex-student Will gains selection for the European Universities Championships
We were pleased to hear that ex-Myton student Will has gained selection for the European Universities Championships (EUSA Rowing), which will take place in Poland in September.
This follows a good British Universities and College regatta for Surrey University where he won silver in the coxless pair race and a bronze in the quad sculls event. Well done Will!
