Myton School Sixth Form played host this week to a major event for legal educators from across the United Kingdom, ‘The Annual Law Teacher Conference 2026: Elevate Your Teaching.’ The conference was organised by Mr Hone, Head of Law and Politics at Myton, and brought together law teachers and exam board representatives for a day of professional development, discussion, and networking.
The event welcomed teachers from all over the UK who specialise in delivering law and related qualifications at A level and vocational level. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in dedicated workshops designed to help refine their teaching approaches, share best practice, and exchange ideas on how to enrich student engagement and understanding.
A highlight of the day was the chance to engage directly with representatives from the major examination boards, including OCR, AQA, Pearson and Eduqas, who attended to discuss current specifications, assessment expectations and support materials available to teachers. This unique interaction allowed educators to raise questions and gain insight into how qualifications are developed and assessed.
In Mr Hone’s words, the aim of the conference was to “elevate the teaching of law across secondary and sixth form education by providing practical support and creating a space for colleagues to collaborate.” He also emphasised how valuable it was to see so many committed professionals come together to share knowledge and build stronger networks.
In addition to expert sessions, the day included opportunities for colleagues to share their own classroom resources, contribute to a collaborative digital teaching pack, and make new connections with law teachers from a wide variety of schools.
Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive, with many delegates praising both the organisation of the conference and the chance to speak with exam board representatives in person. The event has set a strong precedent for future gatherings aimed at supporting legal education in schools
