A meeting has been arranged by the Friends of St. Nicholas Park with three District Ward Councillors next month to discuss the safeguarding of users of St Nicholas Park. Of particular interest is the area used by school children on their route to school, especially in light of the recent incidents at the park involving young people. Councillors are looking at the possibility of further CCTV coverage and are seeking local support.

Crochet and Knitting Club
We have had a fantastic term in the Crochet and Knitting Club with an average of 30 students attending each week.
Students have learnt how to crochet and have worked a variety of their own projects. We look forward to continuing in the New Year.
The club takes place on a Wednesday straight after school.
Year 8 Carol Singing
Staff and residents at Arden Care Home in Leamington were treated to a festive concert of carols by some of our Year 8 students. Well done to everyone who took part!
Business Students hold a Business brunch
On Friday 15 December, we invited various employers into our school in order to give our selected Year 11 and Year 13 students a networking opportunity. Our employers ranged from Majestic Wine, Sainsburys and Calor Gas. Our aim was to allow our students to develop their confidence and oracy skills, as these soft skills are equally as important as their academic accolades. Our students did themselves proud and made an excellent impression on our guests. They were able to listen to the employers’ stories, followed by a pastry and coffee. This allowed our students to dig deeper and gain an understanding of the importance of soft skills and developing their character. A huge thank you to all of the employers and a well done to our students!
Christmas Concert
Over 70 students took part in the Christmas Concert on Tuesday evening in front of a packed audience, with performances ranging from solo piano and vocal through to string group, ukulele and rock bands.
It was wonderful to see solo performances from some of our Year 7 students and to see the display of talent at Myton, particularly at the end of a term which saw us lose our Music Department with all practice rooms and many of the instruments due to RAAC.
Thank you to all the students who took part, those helping, technician Mr Hurst with sound and lighting and Ms Harrisson who challenges and supports our students every year in developing and performing their musical skills. We look forward to welcoming parents to our next performance and seeing how the musical skills of our students develop over the year.
Carol Service
This morning we held our annual Christmas Carol Service at St Mary’s Church in Warwick. Our Year 7 students attended this festive event with readings, carols and musical performances from some of our students. Well done to all our instrumentalists, vocalists and Sixth Form readers.
Thank you to all the parents, carers, governors and the Mayor of Warwick, Councillor Oliver Jacques, for coming along and supporting this event. And special thanks to Reverend Jonathan Hearn, from St Paul’s Church, for taking our service and St Mary’s Church for once again welcoming us so warmly.
