Dear Parents and Carers
This week I’d like to celebrate the sporting achievements of Serena, one of our Year 12 students, who has featured regularly in our Weekly News over the years as we’ve reported on her many boxing titles and successes.
Last week Serena travelled to Glasgow to take part in the England Four Nation Boxing Championships and returned with a silver medal, making her the second placed competitor in her weight/age category in Great Britain. Serena is also a five times national champion, three times European medallist, Golden Girl Champion (crowned in the world’s largest female boxing tournament), has featured in a BBC documentary, and has supported the work of SportsAid, meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales in the process.
Serena’s sights are set on the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and with her recent selection by GB Boxing onto the Future Olympic Medal Strategy Programme, we have no doubt that she is well on her way there.
Serena truly embodies our school CARE values, and her dedication, discipline, resilience and ambition are an inspiration to us all. Well done Serena – we are excited to see where your boxing journey takes you next!
Kind Regards
Mrs Curtis
