Dear Parents and Carers
Our CARE value of being Community Minded can be seen demonstrated all over the school on a day by day basis, but it is particularly clear through the many events which raise money for charity. The Sixth Form Student Leadership team have held various events, including cake sales, pie-a-teacher events and face painting this term. Mr Griffin even shaved his hair off earlier in October! This week we have been raising money for Save the Children through our Christmas/Cosy Jumper day, and next week sees our famous staff panto ‘Peter Pan’ to raise money for Sarcoma UK. This is our charity for the year and was chosen to honour a former student Aaliyah Godfrey who lost her battle with the disease in 2024.
Our Community Minded value has also been seen this week with various trips and visits to care homes and the hospital. Students have delivered home made Christmas cards, have sung carols, and brought smiles and joy to those residents who received them. Whether our students have been doing charity work, practising for the upcoming concert and carol service, or playing in sports fixtures, they are all representing the school with the CARE values we expect of them and demonstrating the very best of our school.
You may also be aware that at this time Mr Perry is currently not in work. In his absence, as Deputy Headteachers we are both leading the school and it is very much business as usual. We continue doing all the things which make Myton the great school it is, and championing the fantastic work of our students and staff. Should you need to contact the school about any matters, please use the established channels of communication.
Thank you as always for your ongoing support, and don’t forget your tickets for the Panto!
Kind regards
Mr Phipps and Mrs Curtis
