We currently have vacancies on Myton’s local governing board. Please see the letter below from our Chair of Governors, Mike Oldridge.
Dear Parents and Carers
We currently have vacancies on Myton’s local governing board and I am writing to invite applications.
Although we are now part of Stowe Valley Multi-Academy Trust, our local governing board still has an extremely important role in helping to shape the strategic direction of the school, and in promoting high standards of educational achievement. We need individuals with relevant knowledge and skills that they can bring to the board to help us carry out the role to the best of our ability.
Governors need to commit to attending regular meetings, and are likely to take a lead governor role for specific areas of school development that may relate to their areas of professional or personal expertise. The role is highly rewarding – giving insights into your child’s schooling and the opportunity to influence the school’s performance and development.
All governors receive training to help them carry out their role. Warwickshire Governor Services runs a wide variety of training courses for governors which you can attend, including an induction course for new governors – and we expect all our governors to complete induction training.
If you would like to put your name forward, please contact [email protected].
Please think about taking on the role or encourage others to volunteer. We need committed governors to make the governing board as effective as it can be.
Yours sincerely

Mike Oldridge
Chair of Governors
