The aim of the survey is to explore experiences of children and young people who are involved in music making, to help the government identify ways to improve access and provision of music education in England. An information sheet can be found here.
Feedback on Children and Family Centres

They are currently collecting feedback from parents and carers to help them understand how they can make their services more visible and accessible to families. National Year of Reading 2026 – reading recommendations
“Science shows that empathy is learnable and that reading is an important empathy-building tool.” EmpathyLab Founder Miranda McKearney OBE.
The 2026 Read For Empathy book collection comes at a time when empathising with others has never been needed more. Contemporary themes highlight the big social issues our children face, including characters affected by poverty, prejudice and racism. Many books underline the importance of understanding other people’s points of view, and respecting differences.
Others address the urgent need for empathy for the environment, the conflicting expectations placed on young people, and empathy’s power to build stronger communities.

Safety and wellbeing of students
We are aware of some incidents that have recently occurred within the local community, involving young people. One incident included the theft of a child’s mobile phone.
The safety and wellbeing of our pupils is always our highest priority. In response to these concerns, the school has taken proactive steps to work closely with our local Community Safety Team and local PCSOs. They have increased their presence along Myton Road and in nearby parks, particularly at times when children and families are more likely to be present, such as the end of the school day.
