We would like to congratulate Nathan in Year 7 on his remarkable achievements in cycling this year.
Nathan finished 1st in his age category in the West Midlands’ Cycling Circuit/Road Series (securing the league win with two races remaining after winning the five previous races). He is taking part in the Regional Championships this weekend.
In the West Midlands Triathlon League, Nathan secured the league win with two races remaining. The races were a mixture of full triathlons, aquathlons and duathlons racing on a variety of surfaces/conditions including open water lake swims as well as pool swims.
Nathan has also been selected to represent the West Midlands at the Inter-Regional Championships in August held at Mallory Park in Leicestershire for the second year in a row.
Nathan has been taking part in a range of other triathlons around the country to gain experience of racing against different athletes from different regions to widen his experience, gaining first place in the races he has entered.
He has completed the Lichfield/Curborough individual race series: a series of four races across the season. Nathan was the overall winner in his age category after winning all four races giving him maximum points.
He is off to the Netherlands at the end of the month to take part in the Junior European Cycling Tour of Assen (a bit like a mini Tour de France!). The tour consists of five days of racing including three road/circuit races, an individual time trial and a hill climb up the Col du Vam. The tour attracts the best riders from across Europe and further afield including China, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico and the USA.
Nathan, your dedication and commitment to your sport is beyond impressive and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next. We are all very proud of your amazing achievements!
