This week all students, during Tutor time, have been shown a presentation and video on the use of electric scooters.
Please note that e-scooters are not allowed on school premises and, from Tuesday 3 May, any children arriving on them will be challenged by teaching staff at the gate.
E-scooters are currently illegal, other than on private land, and are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs). As a result, they are subject to the same legal requirements as motor vehicles such as MOTs, licencing, tax and insurance. E-scooters do not have number plates, signalling ability and don’t always have visible rear lights which is why they cannot be used legally on the roads.
Here is a reminder of the Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership’s guidance on e-scooters.
Reminder Cycling to and from school
Parents and Carers should also remind children about cycling to and from school.
