Warwickshire Young Carers are an organisation set up to improve the lives of young carers by offering free and confidential support. They provide 1-1 support, group sessions and opportunities to meet other young people .
A young carer is a young person who lives with someone who has an illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse problem. They may also be taking on practical and/or emotional caring responsibilities that would normally be expected of an adult. They are at risk of social isolation and bullying, under-achievement, absenteeism from school, and physical and mental ill health.
If you feel you would benefit from this support – or you know someone who would – you can make a referral directly, or we can support with this in school.
You can find out more on the Warwickshire Young Carers website or contact Mrs Haines, our Student Welfare Manager on [email protected].
