Sunday’s Spring Fair was a great success despite the unexpected drizzle. Organised by ex Myton student, Katie Jones, and the Friends Of Myton School (FOMS) committee, the event – in the Lower School Hall – provided art and craft shopping opportunities from 18 stallholders
and a successful clay workshop fuelled by delicious coffee with homemade brownies and blondies provided by Jack’s Shack.
Money raised from stallholders’ fees amounted to £250 and they all donated tombola prizes, including original artwork, candles, bottles of fizz, mosaic coasters, greeting cards.
According to Katie Jones it was a really positive and enjoyable day:
” This was the first event of its kind and there was great community spirit and lots of smiles – from happy customers and lovely, local stall holders.”
“We are looking to run more events like this, to raise money for the school but also to create a friendly and supportive community – but we need the help of Parents and Carers. If anyone can volunteer their time please email Mr Simmons, Chair of FOMS on [email protected] In particular, if anyone has any big ideas for fundraising events. You could always join us for a FOMS meeting at school – keep an eye on the Weekly News for dates.”
