Year 12 and 13 Music students travelled to London by train last Sunday with Head of Music, Ms Harrisson. The group was in the capital to watch English National Opera’s matinee performance of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte at the Coliseum. In the morning, they visited the free exhibition at the British Library, where they had the opportunity to see manuscript scores by Handel, Purcell, Mozart and Schubert as well as a selection of handwritten Beatles lyrics, plus early manuscript and printed books. They also viewed Jane Austen’s portable writing desk. Students were able to enjoy some free time in London before meeting at Trafalgar Square and walking to the theatre for a very enjoyable and lively performance.
