Calling all Music and German students – we are delighted to announce that our long-running Music and German Exchange will be continuing in the autumn.
This five day trip to the Kunst-und-Musikschule in Bruhl is now in its 27th year and is open to any Myton School student in Years 7 to 12 (and Years 8 to 13 next year) who is either studying German or has an interest in music.
The children travel by coach and ferry to meet up with young people from Leamington’s twin town, Bruhl. Students take part in a joint concert at the Musikschule, either as soloists, in small groups, or in the orchestra or choir. Children attending the trip, who aren’t able to perform in the concert, form part of the audience and obtain help with their German language. Participants do not have to be studying Music at GCSE or A level to be considered for a place on this trip.
The excursion – between Wednesday 28 September and Sunday 2 October – is also available for those who have hosted Brühl students in the past. The trip was planned in 2020 but cancelled due to Covid restrictions and Parents and Carers who received refunds are welcome to nominate their child for the return visit to Germany.
The deadline for deposits is Friday 4 March – please email Mrs Harrisson ([email protected]) in Music or Ms Rose ([email protected]) in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) for more details.
