Year 12 Biology and Environmental Science students enjoyed an unforgettable four day residential trip to Weymouth last week, combining hands-on fieldwork with adventure!
Students got stuck into a packed programme of ecological fieldwork, including sand dune sampling and psammosere succession, stream ecology studies, and marine zonation investigation through rock pooling. These practical sessions gave students invaluable experience collecting and analysing real data – even continuing into evening statistics workshops.
Beyond the fieldwork, students took part in archery tag, Jacob’s Ladder challenge, and axe throwing – building teamwork and resilience alongside their scientific skills.
Huge congratulations to all the students who took part. Your enthusiasm, resilience, and work ethic throughout the trip were a real credit to Myton. What a fantastic few days!
