On Monday 8 July our Year 8 students took part in a series of workshops designed to make them more aware of the various risks and challenges faced by teenagers today. Thank you to the specialist agencies who came into school to help us present and discuss topics including: alcohol and substance misuse; child sexual exploitation; youth violence, knife crime and county lines; and the dangers social media and keeping safe online.
Hopefully the students found the day informative and were able to share with you some of what they’d learned about keeping safe. Please follow the links below if you’d like more information about any of the topics covered:
- Child Sexual exploitation – workshop led by Safeline.
- Alcohol and substance misuse – workshop led by Compass. More information available on the NHS website.
- Social media and keeping yourself safe – workshop led by Myton School. More information available on the NSPCC website.
- Youth violence, knife crime and county lines – animated drama production and presentation by Loudmouth Education and Training. More information available on the National Crime Agency website.
