On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, students from Years 7, 8 and 9 attended free Energy Quest workshops at school.
The workshops, funded by Shell plc, were led by two trained, engineering facilitators and organised by school Careers Advisor, Mr Coffey.
Students put themselves in the shoes of engineers to design a solution to power a mobile phone. They were then challenged to ‘save the day’ as they talked to the engineers and were supported to explore their own skill sets whilst learning about the engineering design process.
Energy Quest workshops were launched last Spring and are designed for secondary students aged 11 to 14, to embed learning about energy into an interactive experience.
Many thanks to the guest speakers.
