On Wednesday evening, eighty Year 9, 10 and 11 Examination Dance students, along with a group of Year 7 ‘guest’ dancers, took part in the 2022 Myton Dance Show. Twenty-one dances were beautifully choreographed during lessons and personal time by the students, with three dances arranged by their dance teachers. A range of dance styles were showcased throughout the evening, including contemporary, lyrical, street, tap, jazz, hip hop and modern.
Here are just a few of the students’ thoughts about the evening:
“The 2022 Myton Dance Show was most definitely the most amazing and exciting experience I have ever been a part of: uplifting music, bright flashing lights and incredible dance moves, everyone was shrouded with colours of happiness. I think that the talent in Myton School is absolutely unbelievable, with students capable of creating dance routines filled with tricks and flips. You would not have wanted to miss out on this fun evening!” Elijah (Year 11)
“It was a great experience. Years 7, 9 and 10 and 11 showcased all different dance styles. After missing last year, 2022 was such a success!” Megan (Year 9)
“The Dance Show was extremely fun and an amazing experience for Year 7. The thrill of being on stage was spectacular. I can’t wait for more shows in the future!” Ellen (Year 7)
Mrs Bayley and Miss Hancock would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped put together such a fantastic evening, particularly Rohan, Will, Lauren and Mrs Cross who stepped in at the last minute to manage the sound, lighting, photography and videography. Thanks also goes to Miss Javardi, Grace and Maddie for helping out backstage and Miss Arliss for being such a wonderful compere.
