On Wednesday 16 October Mr Lowe’s Year 9 Media Studies students spent the day at Drayton Manor filming music videos. The weather held out and the students did Myton proud. Some students conquered initial fears, while several got soaking wet on the log flume.
Media teacher Ms Hotten said, “It’s been a fantastic location shoot for the new Year 9 media recruits, enabling the students to film in a great location. The trip has not only developed cinematography skills, group dynamics, confidence and enthusiasm, but it was a fun-filled and useful day for us all.”
Thanks to sixth form Media Studies ambassadors Deepika, Dan and Zug, who were on hand to provide expert guidance.
Here’s what some of the students had to say:
- “The rides were exhilarating and I’ve had an awesome day.” – Charlie
- “I enjoyed the rides, especially Apocalypse. It was fun filming the music video.” – Fatima
- “It was just really fun. I went on loads of rides and the music video was fun to film and the teachers weren’t boring (!).” – Fran
- “I got to break boundaries and do what I wouldn’t usually do. It was the most fun school day ever.” – Alex
