Last week students were encouraged to recycle a much-loved book and help the planet when the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) gave away some pre-loved stock at its annual “Great Book Giveaway.”Children were able to browse through books which still have ‘good reading life’ left in them but which needed new homes. Many students managed to cram more than one book into their bags and one child was heard to say “A free book – what’s not to love?”
Mrs Drage from the LRC said the event was such a success that nearly all stock had gone by breaktime and the table was empty of books by the end of the school day!
DON’T FORGET
Don’t forget that students are always encouraged to have a ‘Book in every Bag’ for reading during the first ten minutes of English lessons.
