This year’s Holocaust Memorial Day – Wednesday 27 January – was a bit different from usual. Instead of a public event, the Mayor of Warwick, Cllr Terry Morris read a poem on video and laid a wreath. You can watch a video of both on the Warwick Town Council website.
Warwick has held this event since 2002 when the day was established internationally. It is a time to remember the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust under Nazi persecution and in genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
