Did you know that it’s against the law to ride a privately owned e-scooter in a public place and Warwickshire Police has the powers to prosecute riders?
As well as the safety aspect – e-scooters can reach speeds of up to 70 mph – there are rules on where and when they can be ridden. The legislation means they can only be ridden legally on private land with the land owner’s permission or on public roads and cycle lanes where there is a government-approved rental trial.
Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership’s leaflet explains more.
We should not be seeing any e-scooters in or around the school grounds.
