Dear Parents and Carers
It’s nice to see some faces this week with the lifting of restrictions regarding face coverings in school.
Next week we will be saying goodbye to our Year 11 and Year 13 students. As I’ve said before, we’ve all been hugely impressed with the maturity and resilience of these two year groups. They came back to school in March focused and engaged. They accepted the news that their exams were cancelled and then had to tackle an assessment period. It’s been an intense and challenging time for these young people, but their approach has been outstanding.
On Monday and Tuesday next week we’ve planned some fun social events for Year 13 to mark the end of their time at Myton and give them an opportunity to say goodbye to their teachers and each other.
Next Thursday is the last day for our Year 11 students. They will have the chance to watch a musical performance by fellow students, sign each other’s shirts and have social time with their friends and teachers in the afternoon.
After the half term break, both year groups will be offered the chance to get involved in events in order to smooth the transition to the next stage in their chosen pathways, including virtual events for Year 13 on what to expect on results day and going to university, and a Sixth Form Taster Day for Year 11.
We wish them well and look forward to welcoming many of our Year 11 students back to Sixth Form in September. For those who are leaving us, please stay in touch, it’s always great to hear how you’re getting on.
With best wishes
Andy Perry – Head Teacher
