This year’s exchange trip to Brühl was one of our most successful ever, especially as we were celebrating 25 years of friendship, partnership and making music together.
We visited the Mustard Museum, the Chocolate Museum and Cologne Cathedral, we spent a morning in a German school and had a day trip to Fantasialand with our German friends. Our trip was made even more special by the amazing weather we had; we enjoyed 23-27 degrees of warm sunshine every day.
The joint concert was enjoyable as always and, as we reported at the time, some of our most talented musicians performed in the open air on the steps of the Town Hall in Brühl. They were invited to be part of the global event of World Girl Day and the Town Hall was ‘pinkified’ in honour of this. Emily Adams, Ed Murdoch and Max Rowe performed with confidence to an enthusiastic audience and we were extremely proud of their performances.
The students were all asked how the trip could be improved and all agreed that the only way to make it better would be to stay longer with our German friends, so they might spend more time with their host families.
