Working in a supportive role in a caring environment as a HLTA, you will have principle responsibility to lead our provision for identified students with specific literacy needs.

This role will involve some 1:1 work with students, as well as group work sessions, to help and support with literacy skills.  You will work closely with students, families and staff members and this rewarding role will see the successful candidate making a real difference to the achievements of our young people who need this additional support and understanding.

Science Technician

£12,774 – £13,290 p.a. for 27.5 hours a week (39 weeks a year) (£19,650 – £20,444 p.a. pro-rata)

Our successful science department is seeking to appoint a science technician to support the delivery of our curriculum at Myton School. This role requires you to prepare and maintain equipment and resources for practical lessons, to support effective teaching and learning.

You may or may not have previous experience of working in a school laboratory environment. Training will be provided to colleagues that are new to working in a school setting.

This role offers flexible, part time hours, across 5 days of the week and is term time only. Start and end times of the working day can be negotiated.

Cover Supervisor

£16,020 – £17,001 for 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks of the year (£20,852 – £22,129 p.a. pro-rata)

If you are confident, a good communicator and enjoy working with young people, you could make an excellent classroom Cover Supervisor.  If you are looking for a change in career, a more rewarding role or are keen for school experience before training to be a teacher, then please do get in touch.

Following a period of induction, you will supervise classes in a teacher’s absence, to maintain good order and keep students on task for the work set by the teacher. You will also supervise students during part of break/lunchtimes and assist with admin tasks and exam invigilation, as required.  

The successful candidate will have a good standard of general education and experience of working with young people (voluntary or paid).  Previous experience of working in education would be desirable but is not essential.  You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to react confidently and positively to a variety of situations.  The hours of work will be 8.20am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, however we would welcome applications from colleagues looking for a part time role (availability on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is essential). Teaching Assistants (TA1 and TA2)

TA1 – £14,518 – £15,256 p.a. (£18,333 – £19,264 p.a. pro-rata) or TA2 – £15,562 – £16,190 p.a. (£19,650 – £20,444 p.a. pro-rata) – 33 ½ hours, per week, during term time

Working in a supportive role in a caring environment you will support the educational, personal and social development of students with varied and sometimes multiple learning barriers and needs in the classroom, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.  This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the achievements of our young people (11–16 years) who need additional support and understanding. 

You will be part of a large and supportive team of TAs in the Learning, Intervention and Nurture Centre (The LINC) which has a great reputation for supporting students with special educational needs, disabilities, anxiety, learning barriers and multiple and complex needs.  Your support as a TA enables students to access a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum and to be fully included in all aspects of school life and will support the school’s vision of ‘no child left behind.’
