Casual Exam Invigilators

£9.62 per hour (plus holiday pay)

We are seeking a number of responsible adults to expand our existing team of casual Exam Invigilators.  Exams are usually held September to December, January, May and June.  Sessions are up to three hours long, normally between the hours of 8.00am and 5.30pm. Invigilators need to be able to offer some flexibility in working hours around the exams.

No previous experience is necessary, just high-level accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to maintain calm and disciplined exam conditions.  Some Invigilators may also act as a scribe and/or a reader for identified students.

Appointments will be on a Casual Worker Agreement with work offered on a flexible “as required” basis.

Cover Supervisor

£6,298 to £10,025 for 13 – 19.5 hours per week over 39 weeks of the year (£20,493 – £21,748 p.a. pro-rata)

If you are confident, a good communicator and enjoy working with young people, you could make an excellent classroom Cover Supervisor.  If you are looking for a change in career, a more rewarding role or are keen for school experience before training to be a teacher, then please do get in touch.

Following a period of induction, you will supervise classes in a teacher’s absence, to maintain good order and keep students on task for the work set by the teacher. You will also supervise students during part of break/lunchtimes and assist with admin tasks and exam invigilation, as required.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of general education and experience of working with young people (voluntary or paid).  Previous experience of working in education would be desirable but is not essential.  You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to react confidently and positively to a variety of situations.  The hours of work will be 8.20am to 3.30pm on a Thursday and Friday (these are essential working days) with the option to work on a Wednesday also being offered.
