I wanted to take a moment to share some positive reflections on our recent Year 13 Geography field trip to Borth that I had the pleasure to lead.
Over the course of three days, students fully immersed themselves in coastal fieldwork, demonstrating both enthusiasm and maturity throughout. They engaged in a range of data collection techniques, including beach profiling, sediment analysis, wave counts and Environmental Quality Index (EQI) surveys. It was fantastic to see them applying their classroom knowledge so confidently in a real-world setting, working collaboratively and supporting one another as they refined their investigative skills.
The group were an absolute credit to you and the school. Their behaviour, attitude and willingness to get involved, even in the heat, were outstanding. They approached every activity with focus and resilience, and their positive attitude contributed to an enjoyable and productive trip for everyone.
We also managed to find time to relax and enjoy some downtime together, including squeezing in watching England play, which was a lovely way to round off our busy days and build a sense of community within the group.
Overall, it was a highly successful and rewarding experience. The data gathered will be invaluable as students move forward with their coursework, and just as importantly, the trip helped to build confidence, independence and teamwork.
