During half term 63 students from Years 9-11 spent five days in Iceland. They had a packed itinerary including lagoon swimming, visiting waterfalls, glaciers, geysers and exploring the country.
Here’s what some of them had to say about the trip:
“Iceland is like nowhere else in the world. It’s cold and white but gives you the warmest welcome, no matter who you are or where you’ve come from. The teachers, along with the travel company, provided us with the most amazing activities and gave a snapshot of what Iceland has to offer in the five days that we were there for. The glacier trip was outstanding! To say that I’ve been on a glacier with my best friends is incredible and it’s all thanks to the trip! Walking behind a waterfall too was amazing, even if we were drenched through! Traveling to Iceland is a trip I will never forget and hopefully one day I can go back again.” – Marleigh Watkin
“I have had such an amazing time in Iceland. That’s one off the bucket list! A bit chilly! Had a shower in the waterfall, walked in a glacier, swam in geothermal pools and stood between the Eurasian and North American plates!” – Jess Fear
“I have had a great time in Iceland! I have done so much: I touched a glacier, saw a volcano, walked behind a waterfall, chilled with my friends and had the best time ever.” – Katie Nayler
“While in Iceland I enjoyed bathing in geothermal pools, climbing mountains, photographing trees and throwing snowballs at every opportunity. Most of all I loved walking around the entire country with my friends.” – Tudor Stafioiu
“Iceland was honestly the most breathtaking experience I have ever had. One of the highlights was Skógafoss the waterfall. The water vapour rising up was like a wet blanket covering us. I loved every minute.” – Will Parsons
The trip has obviously given these students some life-long memories. Thank you to Miss Hawkes for organising the trip and all the staff who supported it during their half-term break.
