Safeguarding at Myton has been judged ‘exemplary’ by Ofsted. We are wholly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we believe that keeping children safe is everyone’s business.
The purpose of safeguarding
To deter and prevent abuse of students by making safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students an integral part of the staffing processes in school and applied to everyone who works in the school setting who is likely to be perceived by children as a safe, trustworthy adult.
This includes people who:
- are responsible for students
- regularly come into contact with students
- are regularly in school when students are present (volunteers, contractors etc.)
Safeguarding covers a number of areas and polices such as:
- Anti-bulling policy
- Attendance policy
- Child Protection
- Equal Opportunities
