Dear Parents and Carers
I would like to express our thanks to the Mayor of Warwick who visited our Student Council representatives this week to talk about the role of democracy and participation in our community. As a core British value, democracy ensures we all have a voice and can participate in decision-making processes. Students discussed how they could ensure that their Student Council was inclusive, representative and involved in decision-making of the school.
British values play an important role in shaping everyday life at our school and in preparing students to be successful in today’s society. Through lessons, assemblies and wider school activities, pupils learn the importance of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs. These values help create a safe, inclusive and respectful environment where every young person feels valued and listened to. By embedding British values across school life, we support students in developing strong moral character, responsible citizenship and the skills they need to make positive choices, both within school and in the wider community.
Kind regards
Mrs Curtis
