Congratulations to the Year 8 Football team who successfully defended their Divison 1 league title on Tuesday night, securing the league with a 0-0 draw against Stratford High. The draw means they have gone undefeated in the league for the second straight year, and repeat as league champions.
With Myton being drawn against Stratford in the County Cup semi-final, the game became a double header. Despite Myton dominating possession and territory during the match, with George Charczun – who was making his debut in goal – not having to make a save until the last minute of extra time, Myton couldn’t get the goal dominance they deserved.
So the game went to penalties, where Remi Walker, Jacob Bell and Harry Jones scored for Myton. George Charczun saved 3 out of 4 penalties from Stratford, to secure the win for Myton and send them through to the final. The final will see Myton play North Leamington School on Monday 9 May, giving them a chance to do the league and cup double.
Well done to all the boys who played on Tuesday and to all those who have represented the team this year.
