Our new Year 7s are doing a great job of finding their way around school and getting to grips with their new timetables. We’ve received a few queries about the lack of subjects on their timetables. The reason why not all subjects appear is that Drama, Music and Art are operating on a ‘carousel’ system with students studying only one subject at a time and rotating approximately each half term. RE, History and Geography are operating a similar carousel, also with a half termly rotation. Students will visit each subject twice during the year.

Resistant Materials, Food, Graphics and Textiles will rotate quarterly, with students visiting each subject once during the year.

The reason for the carousel system is to reduce the number of teachers students need to get to know at any one time and to allow deeper learning to take place.
