On Monday 26 November we took a group of Year 10 students to a Young Co-operatives Conference at Chateau Impney in Droitwich with six other schools from across the country. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of a number of environmental issues.
During the morning session, the students took part in team building exercises with the Outward Bound Trust. They then heard about plastic pollution from a number of speakers, including the key note speaker, Cal Majors, who is the founder of ‘Paddle Against Plastic’. Students then created an Instagram poster to raise awareness of the dangers of plastic. One of our students, Callum Drinkwater, did exceptionally well and won some iTunes vouchers.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the day, commenting that they learnt lots about the environment and what we can all do to protect it.
