Year 12 Spanish students visited the University of Warwick last week for a Languages Taster Day, gaining insight into life at university and studying a language to degree level. Our students were introduced to different components of a languages degree, including cultural modules covering literature, politics, history, film as well as beginner language classes in Italian, Japanese, Arabic, Russian and Mandarin.
They met professors, undergraduate students and had a tour of the university, the Faculty of Arts and Arts Centre and there was a Q&A session about university life. It was a very informative experience and gave them a better idea of where their lives after Year 13 might take them. They were engaged, respectful, curious and confident throughout the day and a credit to themselves and to Myton School.
