On Wednesday eleven Year 10 students volunteered to represent Myton at Sneak Peak Politics, an inter-schools event organised by King’s High School. Approximately 40 students from three schools participated in this decision making activity. The scenario was an imaginary plane crash on a deserted island. Groups were asked to debate and discuss issues relating to their survival, such as who would make the best leader and how limited resources should be allocated.
It was particularly appropriate that this problem solving workshop took place on the eve of the EU Referendum! The connection between this imaginary exercise and the real decisions necessary in the world of politics was not lost on these students. Their engagement and involvement in this activity was most impressive. Well done to them all.
