Our sports leaders from Years 8-10 who have been selected to take part in the Sky Sports Living for Sport project, enjoyed an informative and practical day with athlete and assigned mentor, Anthony Clarke on Tuesday 10th January. Anthony is World Championships double silver medallist in Badminton.
The day started with a motivational talk to the leaders and the Year 10 GCSE PE groups, followed by an academic session on Key Skills for Success. They then experienced a variety of practical activities including: Planning for Success, Mental Toughness, People Skills and Hunger to Achieve. The final session of the day was based around the project activity – organising the Primary School Sports Hall Athletics Competition and a Q&A session.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and Anthony praised them for their input and achievement, adding: “The group were brilliant all day and were a pleasure to work with.”
