On Monday 16 October we took part in Restart a Heart Day, joining together with Campion School, Myton Hospices and the charity Warwickshire Hearts in a successful attempt to train 1,000 people locally in CPR in a single day. With the expert help of Warwickshire First Responders Kelly and Gerry, almost 70 of our Year 8 students were given training in how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.
The day was part of a national initiative that saw 150,000 people trained across the country.
Many thanks to Myton parent and founder of the charity Evelyn’s Gift, Helen Smith and Head of Oken House, Seb Apostle for organising the event. And we couldn’t have done it without Kelly and Gerry who shared their expertise so well and so willingly.
