Congratulations to brothers, Ray and Gabriel Ball on their joint success at the Warwickshire and Leicestershire County Athletics Championships. The boys both competed at Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium, Leicester on Sunday 15 May. Gabriel in Year 7 won the Under 13 Boys’ 200m with an impressive time of 27.18s, which, although not his personal best, was the overall winner for both Warwickshire and Leicestershire. And Ray won the Under 20 Men’s 5000m with 17.5m.
Speed on the tracks runs in the family. The boys’ father ran for Warwickshire and their grandfather was the fastest 100m sprinter in the Royal Air Force for the whole of the British Isles.
Well done to Ray and Gabriel for carrying on the family tradition with such success!
