Last week our Year 9 and 10 Business Studies students joined fellow students from North Birmingham Academy on a trip to Bromford Housing Association in Wolverhampton. The aim of the day was to get some real-life business experience of working in a team, researching, presenting, listening and understanding.
They met volunteers from Bromford and asked them about their roles, the work they do and the skills they use. They also had the chance to meet other team members and find out more about the organisation, its aims and priorities for the future. One of the tasks the students were given was to work in a team to develop a mascot to promote Bromford to the younger generation.
“It has been a challenging day with the students working in mixed teams,” said Myton’s Enterprise Coordinator, Eva Foster. “This is the first time they have done something like this and it has been great to see how much they have taken away from it.”
“I was not sure what to expect today,” said one of our students. “But it has been fun working with other students and having the opportunity to be creative, work in new teams and present. I have really enjoyed it.”
Thanks to Bromford for hosting us and Enabling Enterprise for organising such a great trip.
