On Friday 24 June students from both Round Oak and Myton schools enjoyed a great day of inclusive sporting activities in Myton Sports Hall. Students from both schools competed against each other in this friendly multi-sport event that included, Boccia, Curling, (seated) Volley Ball and Wheel Chair Basket Ball/Inclusive Zone Basketball (IZB). This was a first time experience for a lot of the students involved, who approached the games with an impeccable and enthusiastic attitude from start to finish!
Lee Lough from Sporting Stars Coaching said, “The Wheelchair Basketball School Days are designed to engage participants of all interests and abilities through a series of fun and challenging activities aimed at developing confidence, communication and teamwork alongside increasing knowledge of Paralympic and disability sport.”
Many thanks to Tom Horricks and Lee Lough from Sporting Stars Coaching who delivered an excellent day of team games and to Paul, Mark, Emily, our Development Centre Staff for organising such a great event and supporting inclusivity and Sport for All.
