On Wednesday 12 February the Medical Mavericks paid us a visit and students from Years 9-12 who are interested in careers in the NHS were able to get hands on with some real medical kit.
The students were able to talk to healthcare professionals about the careers that are available including nursing, midwifery and toxicology. They also had the chance to try out ultrasound machines, retina scanners, and key hole surgery training devices, as well as taking basic medical observations such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation and temperature.
