We heard yesterday the sad news that Maurice Franks, Head Teacher of Myton School (initially Oken School) between 1968 and 1990, died last weekend. His daughter explained how fondly he remembered his time at Myton; in fact, on his bedroom wall at Leycester House nursing home was a painting of the school given to him as a retirement present, a staff photograph from his last term and the school crest.

His funeral is on Wednesday 15 March at 1pm at St Mary’s. Our best wishes and sympathy go to Mr Franks’ family.
