On Tuesday 20 March we had the pleasure of hosting the regional final of the Team Maths Challenge in school. Mixed teams of Year 8 and 9 students fought through 4 rounds of tough and unusual problems. As well as using all of their mathematical knowledge, the students developed their teamwork, resilience and ability to work under time pressure. As a host school, we could enter two teams who had been prepared by Miss Patel. In the end they were separated by only a single point, finishing 6th and 7th overall out of the 20 teams participating.
Well done to Stratford Girls’ Grammar who came first, and to our students who were:
Team 1 – Alfie Black (Year 9), Nikit Sajiv (Year 8), Amanvir Hayer (Year 8), Arun Hayer (Year 9)
Team 2 – Bea Leung (Year 8), Gabriel Ball (Year 9), Dan Bloomfield (Year 8), Emily Adams (Year 9)
