On Thursday 26 January we held a Memorial Concert in school for Kieran Long, who tragically died in a road accident almost a year ago. The event was attended by many of Kieran’s friends in Year 11, their parents, members of staff who taught him, and the Long family.
The programme for the concert was put together by Year 11 students Callum Hansen, Beant Dhillon, Anaik Dhut, Abbie Evason, Leila O’Hara, Henna Kalsi and James Fisk, and Mr Russell, all of whom performed brilliantly and the whole event was a fitting tribute to Kieran who is sadly missed by all who knew him.
Mr Long said after the event: “Angela Long and I would like to thank these incredibly talented musicians and Myton School for the wonderful concert in Kieran’s memory. Yet again we have been blown away by the love and respect that has been shown for our amazing boy. He would have been so proud of you all.”
Head of Greville House, Mrs Whitworth said: “I was incredibly humbled by the maturity and sensitivity shown by all students who attended the concert last night. It was a lovely space to be able to remember and celebrate Kieran’s life and a really fitting tribute to his passion for music.”
