As you may know, we were planning to interview for Myton’s new headteacher this week. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, two out of the five shortlisted candidates had to withdraw at the last minute and the school governors felt that the remaining field was not strong enough to proceed. They believe that the school will be in a strong position to re-start the recruitment process and attract a wider field of candidates later in the year.
This is not unusual in headteacher recruitment. In fact it has been the case more than once in Myton’s recent history that interim management arrangements have been put in place while governors recruit a new headteacher.
We will keep you updated on interim arrangements to follow Mr MacIntyre’s retirement as soon as we are able to do so. Rest assured that we remain committed to recruiting the best possible person as Myton’s new head.
